Commercial flight operations from Pasighat in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh will begin from May 21. The inaugural Alliance Air flight from Guwahati will land at the Pasighat airport at 12.20 pm and will take off for Guwahati at 2 pm.

The 1 hour 20 minutes flight from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati will mark the first run of commercial fixed-wing flight operations from Arunachal Pradesh.

In a circular issued by deputy commissioner East Siang district, Tamiyo Tatak, it was mentioned that the commercial flight from Pasighat ALG will be available thrice a week. The same flight will connect Kolkata with Pasighat via Guwahati.

The service by Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, will be three days a week – on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The route will be Kolkata-Guwahati-Pasighat-Guwahati-Kolkata. Arrival time at Pasighat will be 9.05 am while the departure time will be 9.25am from May 22.

“Interested passengers can now book their flight tickets from www.airindia.in,” the circular added.

Tickets for the inaugural flight from Guwahati to Pasighat are available at Rs 4619 while the return tickets are available at Rs 2495.

For a July 19 flight, the tickets from Pasighat to Guwahati will cost around Rs 1645. Ticket rates are subjected to change.

Inaugural of the commercial flight service from Pasighat fulfils a long standing demand for better connectivity. The nearest railway station – Murkongselek in Assam – is around 30km from Pasighat and is the last point of railway connectivity till now. Train travel from Guwahati to Murkongselek takes around 12 hours which is serviced by just one express train.
