The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on May 29 observed the day as ‘Vishwasghat Diwas’ (Betrayal Day) against the BJP government’s ‘failed’ governance.

“Today we took out a bicycle rally where more than 2,000 senior leaders and workers participated to protest against the spiralling prices of petrol, diesel and other commodities, and four years misrule of the BJP government,” said APCC president Ripun Bora.

All the senior leaders including former chief minister Tarun Gogoi were part of the rally. The Congress leaders slammed the BJP government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for failing to keep the promises and fooling the people of the country.

Gogoi said that after coming to power, the BJP leaders have forgotten what they had promised to the people of the country before the election.
