COVID-19 cases reach 681 in Manipur, 210 recover

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Manipur reached 681 on June 19 with 463 of them still active.

In the last 24 hours, 75 persons tested positive for COVID-19 taking the overall tally in the state to 681 cases. Among the new cases were 41 males and 34 females.

The new cases were detected from Chandel (3), Churachandpur (4), Kamjong (2), Senapati 17), Tamenglong (29) and Ukhrul (30) districts. They were tested positive at VRDLs of RIMS (61) and JNIMS (14).

Officials said that all the newly tested patients were returnees from other state. They were being moved to the COVID Care Facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place.

On June 19, as many as 19 patients were discharged from the hospitals after they recovered from the disease. The total number of recovered patients in the state went up to 210.

Officials informed that the COVID Care Centre at UNACCO at Meitram Imphal West has now scaled up its intake capacity to 297. Presently there are 210 positive asymptomatic cases in the facilities at CCC UNACCO (167), Bishnupur District Hospital (33) and Ukhnd District Hospital (10), according to Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Spokesperson Health department, Manipur.
