COVID-19 cases surge to 449 in Manipur

Manipur reported 64 new cases of COVID-19 on June 13, taking the total number of cases in the state to 449. Among the new cases include 28 males and 36 females. The patients were detected positive in the last 24 hours in the state.

Of the 64 new cases, 20 were reported from VRDLs at RIMS while 44 were reported from JNIMS.

Officials said that the conditions of all the patients are stable. “All necessary preventive measures such as containment and contact tracing were already taken up,” officials added.

Spokesperson Health department Khoirom Sasheekumar said that to prevent community transmission it was vital to wear face mask whenever going out. All government offices have been instructed to enforce wearing of face mask, he added.

According to officials, at least 91 persons were discharged from the hospitals in the state after getting treatment.

In the four COVID Care Centres in the state, 358 active patients were undergoing treatment.
