With 14 fresh casualties, the death toll due to COVID-19 increased to 312 in Bihar on August 1.

According to the Health department officials, three patients each died in Patna and Munger, two each in Bhagalpur and Muzaffarpur, and a patient each in Araria Rohtas, Siwan and East Champaran.

Of the 312 casualties, maximum deaths were reported from Patna where 44 people have lost their lives due to this infection so far followed by Bhagalpur with 30, Gaya 21, Rohtas 17, Nalanda 16, Munger 15, Muzaffarpur and East Champaran 13 each, Bhojpur 12, Darbhanga , Begusarai, West Champaran, Samastipur and Saran 10 each, Siwan 8, Araria, Nawada and Vaishali 7 each, Khagaria and Jehanabad 5 each, Aurangabad, Kaimur, Kishanganj, Sitamarhi and Purnea 4 each, Buxar, Katihar and Lakhisarai 3 each, Arwal, Banka and Madhubani 2 each and Gopalganj, Jamui, Madhepura, Saharsa, Sheikhpura, Supaul and Sheohar 1 each.

Meanwhile, Health Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh said that with 1823 patients recovering during the past 24 hours, 35473 people have so far recovered in the state.

Altogether, 18722 cases were active at present in the state.
