A 23-year-old girl who was the first COVID-19 positive case of Manipur was tested negative on Saturday.

Authorities at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) in Imphal said another test will be done to ensure that the patient is free from the virus.

She is undergoing treatment at JNIMS and was in good health.

The student, studying in UK, returned on March 21 and was found to be COVID-19 positive on March 24.

Twelve others who came back with her in a flight also tested negative.

A man from Lilong, Thoubal district who attended the Nizamuddin Markaz religious event was also found positive and is now at RIMS.
