Assam on April 4 reported two fresh cases of COVID-19 taking the total tally to 25 in the state. Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on April 4 informed of a fresh case in North Lakhimpur district.
Sarma added that the North Lakhimpur case also relates to the religious event at Nizamuddin in Delhi. Of all the 25 positive cases reported in the state, 24 of them are related to the Delhi event.
One case reported in Guwahati on April 3 was not traced to Nizamuddin. Reports said that the Guwahati-businessman who contacted the disease had a travel history of returning from Delhi on March 1. The businessman started showing symptoms only around April 2.
