COVID-19 tally reaches 62 in Manipur

Three new COVID-19 positive cases were reported on May 30 from Manipur taking the total cases to 62 in the state.

A 19-year-old girl from Kanglatongbi, who returned from Gujarat, was found positive May 29 night. She was later moved to RIMS.

A 44-year-old female and a 34-year-old male were confirmed as 61st and 62nd COVID-19 positive cases at the VRDL of JNIMS. The woman is from Churachandpur district and a returnee from Chennai. The man is from Chandel district and a returnee from Mumbai.

Their conditions were stable and they will be shifted to COVID Care Facility at JNIMS.

Officials said that all necessary control and preventive measures such as containment and contact tracing were already taken up. On May 30, 580 samples were tested for COVID-19 at the VRDLs of RIMS.

With the detection of the new cases, the total number of positive cases in Manipur increased to 62 while the number of active cases now stands at 55. As many as seven patients recovered from the disease in the state.
