Cricket icon Shane Warne passes away at 52

Cricket legend Shane Warne died aged 52, reports said on March 4.

“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” Warne’s management confirmed in a statement to Australian media outlet Fox Sports.

“The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course,” the report added.

The Fox Sports report said that the cricket legend died of “suspected heart attack”.

Widely considered one of the greatest bowlers in cricket history, Shane Warne took 708 Test wickets in 145 Tests. He also took 293 wickets in 194 ODIs.

In 2013, Warne was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.
