Cycle rally to mark Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in Guwahati

More than 100 participants joined a cycle rally organised to mark the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in Guwahati on August 12.

The rally which was organised by the Kamrup Metropolitan district administration in collaboration with the directorate of sports and youth welfare and the office of the district sports officer, Kamrup Metropolitan started from RG Baruah Sports Complex in Ulubari.

The rally concluded at the same venue after completing the route to Ganesh Mandir (Last Gate) of Ganeshguri. Former international swimmer Elvis Ali Hazarika flagged off the rally in the presence of several dignitaries.

Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is an initiative of the union ministry of culture to celebrate the 75 years of India’s Independence by hoisting national flags all across the country from August 13 to 15.

The Assam government is also joining hands in the initiative. The state government has appealed to the people to join hands in hoisting or displaying more than 80 lakh national flags in homes, offices and commercial establishments from August 13 to 15.
