Dimapur DC relaxes lockdown, orders shops timing

Dimapur district administration has permitted all retail shops in the district to remain open from 9 am to 4 pm with effect from May 20.

In his order, Deputy Commissioner Anoop Khinchi, however, stated that all shops in New Market, Hongkong Market, Hazi Park, Millenium Market, Railway Bazaar and vegetable market in Purana Bazaar and all weekly bazaar would remain closed. Further, the DC notified that all hardware shops in Dimapur district would be permitted to open from 6 am to 12 noon with effect from May 20.

The DC further stated that all the retail and hardware shops must continue to mandatorily take precautionary measures such as keeping hand sanitizer, providing facilities for hand washing, regular cleaning and disinfection of door handles, surfaces and other objects frequently touched by people and wearing of masks by sales person, shopkeepers and other persons in contact with high number of people besides maintaining social distancing.
