Drug factory busted; drugs worth Rs 100 crore seized in Manipur

NAB and Manipur Police seized drugs worth about Rs 100 crore at Lilong Thoubal district on June 29 and apprehended three persons.

SP, Narcotics and Affairs of Border(NAB), W Basu, said a combined team of NAB and Thoubal Police busted a huge brown sugar factory at Lilong and recovered the drugs. The factory was found at the residence of one Md Matalib.

About 111.915 kgs of Heroin Brown Powder were recovered. Three persons identified as identified as Md Matalib (40), his wife Samim Pusham (35) and Serajuddin Mohammad (29) all of Lilong were apprehended.

Machineries and chemicals were also seized.

In another incident three persons were nabbed on Friday for illegal possession of opium worth about Rs 5 lakhs in the international market from Hongkhong Veng Village, Sugnu.

The arrested persons were identified as Paosienlal Tungdim , Mangnu Tungdim and Aaron Nangsha of Chandel district .
