Meghalaya police have seized 91,000 Yaba/WY/Amphetamine tablets with a street value of Rs 2 crore in state’s East Jaiñtia Hills district, police said on December 2.

During the 20-hour long operation, the joint team also recovered 3,88,500 ml of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) from an Agartala bound truck at Khliehriat on December 2 morning.

Superintendent of Police in-charge East Jaintia Hills district, Vivekanand Singh said two persons have been arrested in this regard namely Pritish Nath, son of Shrish Ch Nath of East Tilthai under Panisagar police station in North Tripura and Rabindra Sinha, son of Chaliya Sinha of Fultali under Kailashahar PS in North Tripura.

He said a case has been registered and the investigation is going on.
