Prominent Northeast-based NGO, Eastern Beats, as part of its social commitment drive, donated two wooden almirahs to Gauhati Press Club – the apex body of media persons in Guwahati.

The wooden almirahs, which serves as notice board of Gauhati Press Club, was formally handed over by Eastern Beats members Aiyushman Dutta, Surajit Sharma and Manabendra Dutta Baruah to Gauhati Press Club secretary Sanjoy Roy on February 26.

Formed in 2009, Eastern Beats has been working for the socio-economic development of the Northeast by harnessing the power of the youths. By tapping into the latent power of art, sports and music, the NGO has made inroads in several interior areas of the region.

The NGO has led to several initiatives like Guwahati International Music Festival, Karbi Anglong Beats Competition, etc.  The Guwahati International Music Festival has been promoting Northeast India and showcasing Guwahati’s emergence as major socio-cultural hub of Southeast Asia.
