Meghalaya High Court

The Meghalaya high court on April 19 asked the Meghalaya government and local bodies not to drop their guards and ensure COVID-19 protocols are maintained and enforced in the state.

Disposing of a PIL on the matter, a bench headed by Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee said in the light of the improved situation of COVID-19 at the moment and no further surge of the pandemic emerging, the present petition is disposed of.

“However, the state and the local bodies should not drop their guards and should ensure that COVID-19 protocols are maintained and enforced, particularly as suggested by the Union ministry of health in its regular guidelines and advisories,” it said.
