Exclusive photos of Meghalaya bus accident rescue operations

At least 38 people were killed when a night bus skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Sonapur Mandir, East Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya on Tuesday night. The Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) bus was on way to Guwahati from Silchar.

Relief and rescue operations were on throughout Wednesday even as authorities claimed that as many as 95 per cent of the passengers are feared dead. Army, medical officers and locals were working in tandem to find out any survivors.
