Five die, 254 new COVID-19 cases in Manipur

Manipur on November 12 reported five deaths due to COVID-19 in the state.

In the past 24 hours, three persons from Imphal West and one each from Imphal East and Thoubal died due to COVID-19 complications.

The cumulative number of deaths in the state due to the disease went up to 207.

A health department official informed that in the past 24 hours, 228 persons from general population and 26 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases.

All from the general population were locals without any significant travel history. They were being shifted to the COVID care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place.

On November 12, the total number of discharged patients was 191.

Manipur has reported 21,211 COVID-19 cases with 18,345 from general population and 2,866 Central Security personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases was 17,889 while the number of active cases in the state was 3,115.
