Five new COVID-19 cases were detected from Manipur, officials said on May 27.

Two of these cases were reported from Thoubal district late night on May 26. Their samples were collected on May 18.

Three other cases were detected on May 27.

With the detection of these cases, the total number of positive cases in the state went up to 44 while 40 of them are active. Four patients were earlier released from the hospitals after their tests results came negative.

On May 27, a total of 603 tests were done in Manipur. So far 6834 tests have been do so far in the state.

A total of 486 persons were under home quarantine while 3746 in government quarantine and 10293 persons in community quarantine.
