Five of wedding party killed in mishap in Tangla

At least five persons were killed and several others of a wedding party injured in a road in Nachansali in Tangla in Udalguri district of Assam in the pre-dawn hours on March 14.

Police said the passengers of the ill-fated vehicle were returning after leaving the bride at the groom’s place.

The vehicle hit a tree and turned turtle, killing five persons on the spot.

The injured were later rescued by police and locals and sent to nearby hospitals.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has condoled the death of the members of the wedding party in the accident.
