Flipkart to showcase Assam speciality

Online marketing platform Flipkart will be showcasing and selling speciality Assamese items, including Assam silk, jewellery and tea, on its forum.

Flipkart will come together with the Assam government for this purpose, with Akash Misra, director – government relations (East) of Flipkart engaging in a discussion with KK Dwivedi, commissioner and secretary, industries and commerce department, of Assam government in this regard in Guwahati on February 11.

During the course of discussion, it was decided that the Department will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Flipkart to provide the local artisans, Assamese jewelry makers, small tea growers, organic cultivators etc. a platform in online marketing.

Flipkart would conduct training and workshop for the people involved in sectors like Assamese jewellery, Assamese silk, organic farming, so that they can access the global online market and sell their products through Flipkart’s online store.
