Former Tezpur MP Moni Kumar Subba passes away

Senior Congress leader and former Member of Parliament from Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency in Assam, Moni Kumar Subba, passed away on Monday morning.

Subba breathed his last at a private hospital in New Delhi.

The 61-year-old leader had represented Tezpur parliamentary constituency thrice since 1998.

Moni Kumar Subba, born on March 16, 1958 in Darjeeling, West Bengal, was a member of the 12th, 13th and 14th Lok Sabha from 1998 to 2009. He represented the Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency of Assam and was a member of the Indian National Congress.

Subba was undergoing treatment in New Delhi since a long time. He was suffering from heart and other ailments.

 

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal expressed his condolences on the death of the veteran Congress leader. “Saddened to learn about the demise of former Lok Sabha MP Mani Kumar Subba. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and well-wishers in this time of grief,” Sonowal tweeted.
