Gauhati University

Amid the COVID-19 crisis, the Gauhati University has come up with a standard operating procedure (SOP) for conducting examinations.

As per the SOP, the question papers for offline examinations will cover the whole syllabus but the students need to attempt questions for only 50 per cent of marks and the remaining 50 per cent marks will be calculated based on internal assessment.

It is also learnt that the promotion of intermediate semester students will be considered on the basis of internal assessment marks and theory marks they scored in the earlier semesters.

The university has made it clear that the matter of promotion is subject to the fact that students have completed the online submission of examination forms.

The final semester examinations will be conducted in blended mode by maintaining the COVID-19 protocols and relevant SOP published by the University Grant Commission (UGC).

The SOP further requested heads of all academic departments of the university to finalise the mode of action concerning dissertation in consultation with the controller of examinations of the university.
