A record number of fitness enthusiasts from Guwahati, Bongaigaon, Shillong and other parts of the Northeast participated at GNRC #NeverStop Guwahati on Saturday. Organized by India cricket captain Virat Kohli’s gym chain Chisel, the event saw more than 1,000 health and fitness enthusiasts participating in various competitions like cycling, hill climbing, cross-fit challenge, arm wrestling etc.
GNRC #NeverStop Guwahati is an initiative undertaken by the Dighalipukhuri centre of Chisel, the fitness chain promoted by Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli. The day-long event saw various health and fitness modules like hill climbing, cycle rally, yoga and Zumba besides fitness challenges featuring arm wrestling, cross-fitness etc.
“We at Chisel believe that apart from working out at the gym, outdoor activities are a must for staying fit. To lead an active life, one should be healthy and fit. #NeverStop Guwahati highlights that enthusiasm to stay fit and carry out our day to day activities,” said Bhaskarjyoti Das, franchise owner, Chisel Dighalipukhuri.
#NeverStop Guwahati started with a hill climbing run from Chisel at 6am while a cycle rally was flagged off from the same venue at the same time. Noted Assam actor Nayan Nilim flagged off the hill run and the cycle rally. “I am happy that Chisel has taken the initiative for such a fitness movement. Besides, Chisel is helping raise funds for the Assam floods victims through this campaign. This is a noble cause and I wish everyone will come forward and help,” said Nayan Nilim addressing the gathering.
Guwahati-based premiere healthcare institute GNRC Hospitals is the title sponsor at the event while city-based PR and reputation management company Life’s Purple is a partner. Sports event management company Rough It Out is the organizing partner for the hill run while outdoor adventure promoter Everything Outdoor organized the cycle rally.
