Guwahati airport hosts walkathon to bring home ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ message

Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati organised a walkathon themed ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ programme on August 1.

The walkathon highlighted the 75 years of India’s Independence which is being celebrated as ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav’ across the country.

The walkathon started from VIP parking at Guwahati airport and went till VIP chowk. During the walkathon, pamphlets were distributed to the soldiers, stakeholders and to the citizens to spread the awareness of hoisting the national flag.

A total of 100 personnel from Adani Group, CISF, GIAL, BCAS and local police participated in the event which was aimed at creating awareness among the neighbourhood for ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme.

The central government has requested every citizen to hoist the national flag on August 13-15 under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative, which is a part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

After completion of the walkathon, CASO/Commandant CISF of LGBI airport Lalmohon Thakur and CAO/GIAL, Utpal Baruah appreciated and requested all participants to spread awareness in their neighbourhoods to hoist the national flag on August 13-15 with due respect.

The Guwahati airport, managed by the Adani Group, has been actively taking part in various people-connect activities, besides improving infrastructure and facilities for the air passengers.
