Guwahati airport is now connected by direct commercial flights to Pakyong, Bhubaneswar and Varanasi. The winter flight schedules from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati started from October 28.

The historic flight from Pakyong airport, started by Spicejet SG-3325, arrived in Guwahati at 12:20 pm. A grand water cannon salute was given to the flight on the occasion. The same flight SG-3326 departed Guwahati at 12:40 pm to Pakyong where a formal ceremony was held for flagging off the flight and greeting the passengers. The flying time between Guwahati and Pakyong is 1 Hour.

Indigo started its direct services to Bhubaneswar and Varanasi from Guwahati. The flight 6E-726 at 08:15 am from Bhubaneswar arrived Guwahati with 6E-731 departed for Bhubaneswar at 13:50 pm.

Indigo flight 6E-953 departed Varanasi at 08:45 am and 6E-954 departed Guwahati at 13:15 pm.

The new flights will reduce travel time from Guwahati to Bhubaneswar and Uttar Pradesh city of Varanasi drastically.

Guwahati airport director Ramesh Kumar, AAI officials, CISF commandant and airline officers were present on the occasion to greet the inaugural passengers.
