Huge cache of arms-ammunition recovered in Manipur’s Moreh

Troops of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police had recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district

Acting on a tip-off, combine troops of 43 Assam Rifles and Manipur police commando had launched an operation at Moreh area in Tengnoupal district on August 10 and recovered the hidden arms and ammunition from a house.

Security forces had seized two M-16 rifles, two AK-56 rifles, two 9 mm pistols, one Chinese hand grenade, a large cache of various ammunition and nine magazines of assault rifles, three magazines of pistols and other warlike stores from the house of Thanlet Haokip.

Later, the recovered arms, ammunition and warlike stores were handed over to the Moreh police station for further legal action.
