Huge cache of explosives recovered in Mizoram

Troops of Assam Rifles along with Mizoram Police had recovered a huge cache of explosives and “war-like stores” from Mizoram’s Siaha district near Indo-Myanmar border on December 31, 2021.

Based on specific input, Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police had jointly launched an operation at Mawhre village in Siaha district near Indo-Myanmar border and recovered a large quantity of explosives and war-like stores.

The security personnel had recovered 81 kg of liquid explosives, 94 kg of Belox granular explosives, 395 kg of Gelatin rods, 356 rounds of 12-gauge, 70 mm cartridges, one Improvised Explosive Device (IED) mechanism, lead acid batteries, two detonators and other stores including foreign origin communication equipment from the area.

Later, the recovered explosives and other items were handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
