A Muslim woman in Assam’s Sivasagar has set an example of communal harmony by performing the last rites of Hindu man.
The woman, Muskan Begum posted in her Facebook account that she believes in humanity and not in any particular religion with the photos of her lighting the pyre of her brother Dhruba Mazumder.
“He had no one except me…he had lost his parents when he was a kid. He was raised by his grandparents. I always stood by him and promised to him that I will always be by his side. So, I fulfilled my promise. I pray for his soul…,” Muskan posted on Facebook.
She added, “Being a Muslim girl, I tried my best to do the rituals. Please forgive me if I made some mistake, please forgive me”.
Immediately her post was shared by thousands. She was appreciated for her deed on the social media which is being hailed as an example of communal harmony.
