An aircraft of Indian Air Force has been crashed in Assam’s Sonitpur district on August 8 evening.

The aircraft crashed at a paddy field at Milanpur area near Tezpur at around 8 pm. There is no report of any casualty and the pilot ejected safely before the aircraft hit ground.

Three fire tenders have been rushed to the spot to bring the fire under control.

“Today evening a Su-30 aircraft on a routine training mission from Tezpur crashed in the local flying area. Both pilots ejected safely from the aircraft and have been rescued. A Court of Inquiry will ascertain cause of the accident,” stated P Khongsai, defence PRO based at Guwahati.
