As a part of Techniche, the annual techno-management festival of IIT Guwahati, the students of the institute are organizing Technothlon, an international school championship which aims to ‘inspire young minds’.

The Prelims for the 2019 edition of Technothlon will be held on July 14. The students who qualify for the mains will be invited to the IIT Guwahati campus during Techniche from August 29 to September 1, where they will contest in more challenging rounds, trying to bag the champions’ title.

There are various prizes for the winning teams from each squad. The winners of Technothlon will receive a guided tour of NASA and the runners up will receive a guided tour of ISRO.

Technothlon is a test of logic where students from class 9-12 compete with their logical and creativity skills to win the grand prize.

Conducted in 2 phases – prelims and mains, Technothlon 2018 witnessed a huge participation from over 500 centres all over the nation. The students were divided into 2 squads: Juniors Squad – comprising of Class 9-10 and Hauts Squad comprising students of Class 11-12. They get separate question papers set by the students of IIT Guwahati.

The paper is completely different from that of any other competitive examination; being based solely on logic, analytical ability and practical observations and involving no academic syllabus.

Recognizing the dire need for technical exposure and true inspiration for the present-day school students, Technothlon’s first edition was held in Guwahati in 2004.

Students can register from the site – technothlon.techniche.org.
