India will play against South Africa in a T20 match at ACA stadium at Barsapara in Guwahati on October 1. This is the first time in more than two years that the Barsapara stadium will be hosting an international cricket match.

The last time India was scheduled to play at Barsapara against Sri Lanka in a T20 match which had to be abandoned due to rain and poor playing conditions in January 2020.
“We are extremely grateful to the BCCI for allotting an important international match here in Guwahati. We will try our best to make it a success,” said Assam Cricket Association secretary Devajit Saikia.
This match is a part of the three-match ODI and a three-match T20I series against South Africa ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. Also, the Men in Blue will play a three-match T20I series against Australia ahead of the marquee tournament.
At Barsapara, in 2017, India played against Australia in a T20 and after that in 2018 West Indies came to play an ODI here. Apart from that, England women played three T20 matches here against the Indian women’s team.
