Popular musician Zublee Baruah got herself a tattoo on her hand pledging to donate her organs on the occasion of 12th Indian Organ Donation Day on November 27.

“Got inked for the very first time on the occasion of 12th Indian Organ Donation Day observed by Zublee Foundation uniquely as ‘Inked For Life’,” wrote the singer-composer on her social media handles.

“So proud to be inked as an Organ Donor.”

Her organisation Zublee Foundation has been working towards awareness on organ donation in Assam and other parts of the northeast.

“This design which signifies ‘Aspiring Organ Donor’, is specially been created by Zublee Foundation,” she added.

The singer also narrated the meaning of the tattoo which was crafted by Abhijit Chetia.

“The red circle signifies our desire or passion to donate organs after death. And the nine leaves means nine lives as one organ donor can save up to nine lives,” she continued.

“And the topmost leaf which is drawn as the Green Ribbon symbolizes ‘Organ Donation’.”

The popular singer urged the people to be a part of the awareness drive ‘Inked For Life and help them make deceased organ donation possible in the region.
