The Association of Youth Futsal Assam (AYFA) is organising Inter-District Futsal Championship 2017 for under-17 aspirants at the Tarun Ram Phukan Indoor Stadium on August 6.
“This is going to be the first time when Assam will witness Futsal at such level,” said general secretary AYFA Ranajit Mahanta.
“With this event, players from various districts will be scouted for the upcoming National Futsal Championship 2017. AYFA will be organising more district tournaments in other age groups such as U19, U14 and senior. We are happy to inform that we have 15 districts taking part in this inauguration event,” a statement issued by the Futsal association said.
The tournament will be played in groups and knockout format. The organizers said that they aim to popularise the game in Assam by creating a platform for the youths who are accepting and playing the game of Futsal.
