Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu on Monday welcomed the joining of 96 members from Anini Assembly constituency to BJP during a public meeting in Anini.

The newly joined members included Zila Parishad chairperson Dipen Molo along with Anchal chairperson, Anini block, 2 ASMs, 2 GPCs and two GPMs. Also several former panchayat leaders and public leaders joined the BJP.

Khandu, in his address, said Anini is gifted with natural beauty that has landscape similar to Tawang and Mechuka. He said for tourism to make progress in Anini, it needs good connectivity and assured to expedite the construction of 2-lane Roing-Anini highway.

On memorandum submitted by the local public, the chief minister assured to give priority to the demand for a hospital building, 100-bedded boys hostel and a multipurpose hall. He further assured that all infrastructures requirements for health and education sector will be taken on priority and urged that all development schemes be brought through district planning board.

Informing on state government’s achievements, Khandu said that the state govt has created 1,300 posts in education, out of which 1,022 are posts for subject teachers. He said 357 posts of TGT/PGT are created to fill on promotion basis and 665 posts through direct recruitment.

Present on the occasion were state BJP president Tapir Gao, art & culture minister Mohesh Chai, tourism parliamentary secretary PD Sona, planning parliamentary secretary Zingnu Namchoom, local MLA Rajesh Tacho and former Lok Sabha MP Laeta Umbrey.
