Assam Police have arrested a youth for giving death threat to state Finance and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The accused, identified as Aktar Ali and a resident of Hajo, allegedly threatened to kill the minister through a Facebook post.
According to police, they arrested Ali on September 17 night. He went on hiding as the police launched a search operation after an FIR was lodged against him.
Ali is currently being interrogated by the police. “Investigation is on,” police said.
BJP workers filed an FIR at Hajo police station against Aktar Ali and demanded stringent punishment for the accused.
