Man trampled to death by wild elephant near Guwahati

A person was trampled to death by a wild elephant near the Rani Reserve Forest on the outskirts of Guwahati.

The deceased has been identified as Rajib Boro (35), son of late Baneswar Boro, a resident of village Andherijuli under Palashbari police station of Kamrup district.

Boro was trampled to death by wild elephants who purportedly came to the paddy fields in search of food.

The incident took place around 12.10 am on September 19 night at Andhrijuli village near Rani Reserve Forest.

There has been an increase in incidents of man-animal conflict in areas surrounding Guwahati in recent times.
