Manipur government has decided to lift ban on payment of salaries, pension and interest payment of loans taken by government.

The RBI had imposed a ban on all transactions following overdraft faced by the state government.

After getting the state share and money from other sources, the state government has decided to lift ban for employees, pensioners.

Rakesh Ranjan, principal secretary finance said in an order issued on June 26 that all concerned have been asked to accept bills for the employees, pensioners.

Manipur government has also initiated a probe into alleged fund misuse during the period of model code of conduct and relieved key portfolios from deputy chief minister Y Joykumar and information minister Th Biswajit.
