Manipur governor extends Rs 1 lakh assistance to martyr’s family

Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla has extended a discretionary grant of Rs 1 lakh to the bereaved family of martyr Lunggambui Abonmai.

Abonmai was survived by his wife, two sons, mother, and an ailing father who is a cancer patient and two brothers.

Somorjit Salam, Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi handed over a cheque amounting to Rs 1 lakh to the next of kin of Lunggambui Abonmai.

Abonmai was a Sepoy in the Assam Regiment. He was martyred on June 13 while performing duty at Poonch district in Jammu & Kashmir.

The cheque was handed over at the residence of the martyr in the presence of officials and the village authority at Ariang Khunou under Kangpokpi district.
