Manipur government on November 18 published a draft policy for welfare of children and protection of child rights in the state.
The Social Welfare department of Manipur published the Manipur State Policy for Children 2020 draft policy, a notification issued by commissioner-cum-secretary of the department said.
The policy was drafted by Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights after a series of consultations with different stakeholders, including Child Rights & You (CRY) and Social Welfare department as the nodal department.
A core committee also examined the draft.
‘Objections and suggestions on draft policy will be heard’
The draft was published for information of all persons likely to be affected and notice was also given that the draft shall be taken into consideration within this month. Objections and suggestions will be heard, it was stated.
The draft was also made available in Manipur government’s website manipur.gov.in.
