Manipur reports 17 fresh COVID-19 cases, 74 recoveries

Manipur on July 13 reported 17 fresh COVID-19 cases while 74 persons were released from the COVID Care Centres after they recovered from the disease.

The fresh cases were detected from VRDL of JNIMS. These include seven males and 10 females, Health department spokesperson Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang said on July 13.

The official informed that the fresh cases belonged to Churachandpur, Imphal East and Senapati districts. They will be shifted to COVID care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place.

In the past 24 hours, 74 persons were discharged from COVID Care Centres of Meitram, Tamenglong, Thoubal, Senapati, Ukhrul and Covid Care Facility at NIMS after they were found negative for COVID-19 on RT-PCR test.

With the detection of the fresh cases, the total number of cases reported in the state climbed to 1626 while the number of active cases stands at 656.

As many as 970 patients recovered from the disease in the state.
