A medium intensity earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale shook parts of central Assam on Monday.

The earthquake occurred at 10:23 am with epicentre at Dhing near Nagaon in central Assam.

No loss of life or property was reported.

US Geological Survey reported the epicenter to be at a depth of 10km.
