Meghalaya minister James Sangma tests COVID-19 positive at Imphal Airport

Meghalaya Power Minister James Sangma was tested positive for COVID-19 at Imphal Airport on September 12.

The minister was on a visit to Manipur to attend a function of the National People’s Party (NPP).

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and his OSD, who were also in Imphal for the function, however tested negative for COVID-19.

After testing positive, James Sangma did not go out of the airport and arrangements were made to take him back to Meghalaya.

Reports said that the Meghalaya power minister was asymptomatic.

Manipur government has started testing of all persons at the
Imphal airport.
