Minister inspects police station, situation in border areas of Manipur

Manipur’s Water Resources and Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Letpao Haokip conducted a two-day tour on May 27-28 to the interior areas of Chandel district and took stock of the COVID-19 tackling measures in the area.

He distributed essential items to the villagers, met village chiefs, inspected PMGSY roads/projects in these areas and inspected the recently opened Molcham Police Station.

Molcham police station had been lying non-functional since the last 30 years. But in relation with the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown, the state government opened the Molcham PS to effectively seal the international gate and border.

During the tour, the minister also inspected the PMGSY roads that are being constructed in these remote areas and along the international border.

As a part of the tour, the minister also installed many solar lamp posts in T Nampao and Molcham villages.
