The Namsai district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Arunachal Pradesh organized a huge public gathering at Mahadevpur on June 25 to celebrate the 4-year completion and achievement of the Narendra Modi government.

While highlighting various welfare programs and policies of the central government, Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein said that the Northeast region has received special focus from the centre and the results are visible with accelerated development in terms of infrastructure, especially in air, railway and road connectivity in the region.

Mein said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is focused and giving special attention to the NE region, which can be proved, from the number of times he has visited the Northeast since he became the prime minister. “Modi has visited the region more than the total numbers of visits taken by the previous prime ministers in the last 60 years prior to him,” Mein said.

He added that the BJP government in the centre is committed for inclusive growth and development in all fronts – with some of the focus areas being doubling farmers’ income, empowering the women through legislation, harnessing yuva shakti through skill development, transforming education and furthering sports and sportsmanship through Khelo India, to ease doing of business through GST, urban transformation through smart cities, etc.

Addressing the huge gathering of party members, supporters and general public, Mein, who is also the local MLA, further stated that the government is committed for eliminating corruption, institutionalizing honesty and enhancing transparency through IT, DBT, etc.

Mein added that the state government under the leadership of young and dynamic chief minister Pema Khandu is also working hand in hand for achieving all these objectives in the state and is committed to implement all the PM’s/CM’s flagship programmes and CSS in letter and spirit. He informed that the chief minister has also launched CM’s dashboard and satellite-based geo tagging application through which the chief minister and the government can monitor the progress, status and implementations of projects by click of a mouse.

Parliamentary secretary for planning & investment, training and personnel, Chow Zingnu Namchoom also highlighted welfare programmes and policies initiated by the government.

“The main motto of organizing the event was to highlight and make people aware of the various welfare programs and initiatives and achievements of the government,” said Chow Sujana Namchoom, district BJP president.

Among others, Junti Singpho, district BJP in-charge, BJP mandal presidents from Lekang, Namsai and Chongkham also spoke on the occasion.
