More than 50,000 recover from COVID-19 in Assam

More than 50,000 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Assam till midnight of August 14.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on August 14 informed that 2310 patients were released from the hospital and COVID care centres in the last 24 hours in the state.

With this, the total number of recovered persons in the state went up to 51,694.

Assam has reported 74,501 COVID-19 cases with the detection of 2706 new cases on August 14.

Kamrup Metro district accounted for the largest number of new cases with 719, while adjoining Kamrup and Dibrugarh also confirmed over 250 cases.

The death toll has increased to 175 as six more COVID-19 deaths were confirmed on August 14.

The number of active COVID-19 positive cases stands at 22,630.
