Nagaland governor R N Ravi, who is also the interlocutor to Naga peace process, has expressed optimism on the early solution of Naga political problem and said that the solution will be achieved with the support of all section of the Nagas.

Speaking at the welcome reception at the state banquet hall on August 1 evening Ravi said that he has accepted the responsibility as the interlocutor five years back not as a mere job but as a mission of his life. While in assuming the office as the governor of the state Ravi said this will be another innings to journey with the people on Nagaland and that he will remain steadfastly committed to the constitutional responsibilities and further pledge to dedicate selflessly and tirelessly to the service of the people of Nagaland.

Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio in his address said that the people across the state are crying out for peace and solution to the several decades old Indo-Naga political conflict and that an early negotiated political solution that is honourable and acceptable to the people that upholds the political rights of the Nagas in a democratic manner is the need of the hour. Rio further assured the governor fullest cooperation and support in collective aspiration of achieving lasting peace.

Nagaland leader of opposition T R Zeliang said that the state is fortunate to have a governor in the person of R N Ravi, whose name and identity has become synonymous with the Indo- Naga political issue and is optimistic that his appointment as the governor will facilitate and speed up the negotiation between the Naga political groups and the government of India.
