Nagaland government has strictly prohibited the movement of people crossing the international border between India and Myanmar with immediate effect due to the outbreak of Coronavirus in China.

Deputy Commissioner of Mon district of Nagaland, Thavaseelan K, as per the directives of the state government, issued the order prohibiting the movement of people crossing the international border between India and Myanmar.

According to official sources, the order was issued on February 14 in view of the reported outbreak of Novel Coronavirus in China and other countries and on declaration of the same as Public Health Emergency of International concern by the World Health Organization (WHO). “This was necessitated in the interest of public health and safety,” the order noted.

The Deputy Commissioner further informed that, the order will remain active till further notice.
