Guwahati-based Narayana Superspeciality Hospital has started a new facility of providing free pick-up and drop services to ESIC patients for consultation and basic screening from specialist doctors across all departments at the hospital. The service, to be provided thrice a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, will help patients to reach the hospital situated at North Guwahati.

The shuttle vehicle starts at 11am from ESIC Hospital and the patients are examined from 12 noon to 3:30pm at Narayana Superspeciality Hospital. After the check up, they are dropped at the ESIC Hospital. If any patient needs further treatment, he/ she will be admitted for treatment after receiving a referral letter from an ESIC empanelled doctor.

Commenting on the initiative, facility director at Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Guwahati Abid Tauqeer said, “This initiative is for people who are covered under ESI. We have always been conducting many health check-up camps in the past. While we provide consulting, we found that there is a need of arranging some solution that can help the patients with issues related to transportation and that’s how we came up with the idea of launching free pick-up and drop facility for patients from ESIC Model Hospital to our hospital.” He further added, “This service will help patients to save their time and money and above all, in getting timely medical attention.”
