A video on Forest Man of India, Jadav Payeng, by popular vlogger Nas Daily went viral on November 11.

The famous video blogger, Nuseir Yassin, who publishes under the name of Nas Daily in Facebook, was in Assam to shoot Jadav Payeng’s journey as he became popular for his efforts on forestation. The 4:30 minute video was watched more than 5 Lakh times in just about 2 hours.

The video shows how Jadav Payeng single-handedly started planting trees in a piece of barren land and turned it into an entire forest. “This is amazing work. It took me quite a long journey to track this man (Jadav Payeng). I am glad he is doing something that will inspire generations,” Nuseir Yassin said in the video.

To give a better perspective for the international audience, Nuseir Yassin mentioned that the size of Jadav Payeng’s forest is more than the size of Central Park in New York.

Jadav Payeng was awarded the Padma Shri in 2015 for his contributions to the environment. Payeng’s forest, called Molai forest after him, is located near Kokilamukh of Jorhat, Assam and encompasses an area of about 1,360 acres / 550 hectares.
