Train connectivity in Northeast India

Northeast Frontier Railway will resume the services of two pairs of daily passenger special trains for the benefit of short distance travellers.

Among these passenger special trains, one train will run from Guwahati to Mendipathar in Meghalaya while another train will run from Guwahati to Mairabari, an NF Railway official informed on September 1.

With this local train services for the people of Meghalaya would be restored.

Train No. 05020/05019 Guwahati – Mendipathar – Guwahati daily passenger special will resume leaving Guwahati from September 10 and leaving Mendipathar from September 11. The train will leave Mendipathar daily at 7 am and will reach Guwahati at 11:45 am. In the return journey, it will leave Guwahati at 4:20 pm and will reach Mendipathar at 8:10 pm.

Train No. 05503/05504 Guwahati – Mairabari – Guwahati daily passenger special will resume from leaving Guwahati from September 11 and leaving Mairabari from September 12. The train will leave Mairabari daily at 4 am to reach Guwahati at 9:25 am. In the return journey, the special passenger train will leave Guwahati at 5:40 pm to reach Mairabari at 11:15 pm.

The details of stoppages and timings of the trains are available in IRCTC website. “Passengers are requested to see these details before undertaking their journey,” said a statement released by chief public relations officer Guneet Kaur.

“It may kindly be noted that, during train journey and on arrival at their destination, the passengers will have to adhere to prevailing health protocols of the destination state. All passengers are requested to co-operate with the railway and respective state govt officials in this regard,” the statement added.
